What is Kaleidoscope?

Kaleidoscope 2024 was a 10-week festival held in the suburb of Point Cook, at their town centre's Pop Up Park.

Working alongside the CoLocal team, we organised and collaborated with Stockland, Wyndham Council and community groups, to promote intercultural bonds within the community.

Enriching the Kaleidoscope Environment

I was responsible for customising the Peep Board at the park to fit with the cultural themes of the festival.

I made videos to promote each Kaleidoscope event which were uploaded on Instagram and Facebook.

Festival Spirit Everywhere!

I designed the layout of a booking form for future collaborations and a certificate that celebrated the participation of community groups and collaborators.

Updating the CoLocal Website

About me in the website

I updated the ‘Our Team’ page on the CoLocal website and during the process, I kept the UI consistent through code on the backend via TidyHQ.

Reflection

During my time interning with CoLocal, I put my existing design skills into practice and it was exciting to see how design is used in real projects, impacting real people. I learnt independently and was also guided by professionals, expanding my skillset.

It was an amazing opportunity to express my creativity while incorporating feedback and working with a cross-functional team. Here, I saw first-hand how design principles are important and that design should communicate ideas effectively for the everyday person.
